This ravishing new role for a live in Housekeeper is located around Fife, Scotland. Salary £35-45k and a superb cottage on one of the most beautiful Estates
An idyllic rural setting just over an hour from Edinburgh, 15 minutes from St Andrews and 5 mins from the sea.
After eight years running the house, the housekeeper who was placed by Domestic Bliss and who highly recommends the role is retiring. Accommodation is in a lovely cottage. A cat would be welcome or a very small dog.
The main role of this housekeeper post is the general routine of maintaining the house and be responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and day-to-day smooth running.
The house is a beloved family home to a couple and two adult children with guests staying periodically.
There is a wonderful small estate team and the Estate is run on regenerative farming and organic methods with an amazing quality of life.
The Housekeeper will:
• Carry out daily, weekly, monthly and annual cleaning activities
• Carry out and oversee regular maintenance tasks (e.g. turning mattresses, descaling equipment, pest control, servicing equipment, window cleaning, changing lightbulbs etc)
• Carry out and manage household laundry: washing, ironing, starching etc
• Lay and restock fires around the house
• Maintain a stock of cleaning equipment, household and food supplies, carrying out online and offline shopping when necessary
Manage recycling
Feed and care for one elderly cat and look after houseplants. When family are away act as the caretaker with housesitting for security.
Cooking ability to Provide occasional food preparation for the family and guests
Carry out errands and make and receive deliveries and pick-ups as and when required
Liaise with the estate office and gardening team household working in harmony.
Caretaking also security of the house (alarms, shutters, locks)
Pick and use garden produce
Prepare flower displays for the house, liaising with gardener as required
Provide regular baking: cakes and biscuits (monthly); cakes and biscuits for charity events and fruit crumbles for fundraiser (annually)
Communicate clearly and regularly regarding household matters
The Housekeeper will be experienced with Practical experience of managing a private household
Full, clean driving licence.

A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and manage their time and workload effectively and efficiently.
Excellent communications skills and the ability to get on well with a wide range of people.
