A friendly professional couple with all round experience for a lovely role near Tunbridge wells Kent looking to replace their staff returning to Australia with a super new couple who are versatile and ‘can do’ attitude.
This 12 month fixed term contact is a superb opportunity for a dynamic and versatile domestic couple who enjoy working within a wider team. Here you will be responsible for a large property set on 7 acres in West Kent for a busy family. Fully furnished accommodation provided.
Housekeeper – General housework, hands on cleaning, laundry & ironing, washing up etc
Flower arranging General household shopping, weekly supermarket groceries, running various errands (village stores, post office etc)Managing weekly dry cleaning collection service
- Deep cleaning, silver & copper care when required
- Simple cooking/food preparation, Occasional help when entertaining – food preparation and serving
- Placing household orders and booking regular service appointments with contractors
Gardener/Handyman – working alongside a head gardener and team of gardeners
The ratio of this role is roughly 80% gardening and 20% maintenance. A good knowledge of gardening is required.
Gardening
- Lawn maintenance (with both sit on mower and hand machines) & Edge Cutting
- Managing irrigation system and borehole
- Hedge cutting, pruning, pest spraying, weeding
- Tending vegetable garden/Orchard
- Watering plants and flower beds/pots etc
- Keep all machines and gardening tools clean and in good working order
- Fountain/pond maintenance
- General maintenance of the property and grounds including tennis court
- Maintain indoor swimming pool & liaise with pool company
- Weekly cleaning/valeting, fuelling and general maintenance of three cars
- Placing household and garden orders and booking regular service appointments with contractors
- Keep all outside areas, including steps and terraces clean, tidy and weed free.
- Keep garages, greenhouse and workshops clean and tidy
- Managing indoor fireplace, stocking up log basket and emptying ashes, laying wood burning fire
- Fence maintenance (electric badger/deer fence protection) etc
- Experience in a similar role is essential
- Both must have full clean driving licences in order to undertake some driving duties – shopping, station drop offs, running errands and occasional trips to London
- Excellent spoken English and must be computer literate.
- Attention to detail and high standards essential.
- Dog lovers (Occasional dog sitting/walking/bathing)
- Experience in working within a small team
- Must have knowledge of all garden machinery, ride-on mowers and good basic gardening knowledge.
- Willingness to assist when family are entertaining
- Security conscious especially when house sitting in owner’s absence
